The Google Pixel 7 Pro features a 50 megapixel Quad Bayer wide camera. This is in the phones default camera, which has an aperture of f1.85 and is the full frame equivalent focal length of 24mm. Throughout this portrait photoshoot I am shooting with both raw and jpg simultaneously. This is a feature I have always appreciated about Pixel devices. It's great to have the option between a ready to go JPG or a RAW .dng file to edit to your liking.

Watch my Pixel 7 Pro camera review video below. I share unedited, 100% crops of the photos so you can see all the details. The edited versions of my Pixel 7 Pro photos are edited with my Disposable Film Lightroom Preset Pack.

As usual with Pixel, the 7 Pro's wide camera is full of vibrant colours and details without looking over-sharpened or over-processed. The raw files are easy to work with as well - there is plenty of information to recover shadows and highlights. The .dng RAW files from the 7 Pro are on average about 10MB each.

PIXEL 7 PRO WIDE CAMERA PHOTO EXAMPLES

PIXEL 7 PRO ULTRAWIDE PHOTO SAMPLES

The Google Pixel 7 Pro includes a 12 megapixel Ultrawide camera. This camera has an aperture of f2.2 and is the full frame equivalent focal length of 13mm. Unlike the Pixel 6 Pro, the Ultrawide of the 7 Pro now features autofocus. Below are my Pixel 7 Pro Ultrawide photos:

PIXEL 7 PRO 2X ZOOM

The Pixel 7 Pro makes use of cropping the 48 megapixel sensor to achieve a high quality 2x zoom image. The full frame equivalent of 2x is 48mm. Although it's not an optical 2x lens, there is still a lot of sharpness, detail and vibrant colours in these photos. I especially love the image quality of the closeup portrait I took here of Amol. Below are my Pixel 7 Pro 2x zoom photos:

PIXEL 7 PRO 5X TELEPHOTO

Like the wide camera, the Pixel 7 Pro uses a 48 megapixel Quad Bayer telephoto camera. It has an aperture of f3.5 and at 5x optical zoom is the full frame equivalent of 117mm. This is a longer focal length than the 6 Pro last year. The Pixel 6 Pro was the full frame equivalent of 104mm.

While I am creating this Pixel camera review I am heavily using the phone. I screen record the phone while shooting in RAW + JPG simultaneously for up to an hour straight at a time. I am happy to see that even under these processor heavy situations, switching between all the lenses - especially wide to telephoto - is almost instant. Below are my Pixel 7 Pro 5x telephoto images:

PIXEL 7 PRO VIDEO TEST

Watch my behind the scenes review video to see video tests of the Google Pixel 7 Pro. I film in 4K 60P using the Ultrawide, wide, 2x and 5x telephoto camera. I share all the footage at 60p but also slow down some sections to 30P so we can see it in slow motion. I also share unedited video examples + a few video examples with minor tonal adjustments.

PIXEL 7 PRO NIGHT SIGHT

Last but not least I have Night Sight examples to share with you from the Pixel 7 Pro! I shot a mixture of photos. One night, Dan and I went to dinner together. I shot hand held Night Sight portraits of Dan and also some shots of the food with various lenses. I also spent a night in the Sydney Harbour taking photos on a tripod of the landscape. I've included a few of these photos in this blog post, but please watch my video linked above to see all the Night Sight examples! Below are my Pixel 7 Pro night sight photos:
