The Tamron 35-150mm f2-2.8 Di III VXD is a full frame Sony E-mount zoom lens. In my real world review video, I share real-time examples of eye AF performance in stills mode on the Sony A7III. At a portrait photography session, I test the image quality and sharpness. Watch my behind the scenes video to see unedited, SOOC, 100% crops from the Tamron 35-150mm.

I've included comparisons at similar focal lengths of the Tamron 35-150mm f2-2.8 vs the Zeiss 35mm f1.4, GM 35mm f1.4, GM 24-70mm f2.8 and Gm 70-200mm f2.8 II in my video.

This Tamron 35-150mm weighs 1,165g and features a wide, rubber focus and zoom ring. This lens also makes use of Tamron's new USB-C feature. Instead of using a dock, you can plug your lens directly into your computer to perform firmware upgrades and customise the functions of the lens. For instance, you can change the focus ring to work as an aperture ring. This Tamron 35-150mm f2-2.8 is moisture resistant with leak-resistant seals and the USB C port is waterproof like on most phones.

With this lens, you can shoot with an aperture of f2 from 35mm to about 40mm. It jumps to f2.2 at 40mm - 60mm, then f2.5 at 60mm -80mm and from 80mm onwards the maximum aperture is f2.8.

I noticed some chromatic aberration in the backlit portraits I took of Mikayla, I've shared examples of this in my video alongside examples of the lens flare. The CA is quite minimal that it is easy to remove with Lightroom. The lens also focused great even in the strong backlight.

I share real time autofocus examples of the Tamron 35-150mm in video with the Sony A7sIII. These video examples are in 4k 25p. I also filmed 4k slow motion portrait footage of Mikayla to see how this lens performs at a real world photoshoot.
