The Sony 28mm f2 is a wide-angle prime lens designed for Sony’s full-frame E-mount cameras. I believe it’s an underrated lens from Sony as it’s able to deliver high quality results at a relatively cheap price point for a native lens. It features a relatively fast f2 maximum aperture, making it suitable for low-light shooting and offering moderate background separation. The Sony 28mm f2 is compact and lightweight, making it a popular choice for photographers who want a portable option without sacrificing image quality. It delivers sharp images with good contrast and minimal distortion across the frame. The autofocus is fast and quiet, suitable for both stills and video work. Overall, the Sony 28mm f2 is a versatile lens ideal for street photography, environmental portraits, travel, and everyday shooting where a wider field of view is desired. During this photoshoot I am using the 28mm f2 on the Sony A7III. In the behind the scenes video below, I share unedited, 100% crops of the straight out of camera images so you can see all the details. Make sure to subscribe to my channel if you haven’t already!
